How do you unlock the third character w/o playing the other two?  Is there a .ini method or something?

Aw, come ON.  Give Hugo and Yunica a chance. :(  I mean, look at the stats here -->

Look at the loooooooooooooooove for the two kids!  If the poll doesn't do it for you, then check out the propaganda for each character!

Seriously though, just ... play the game normally. >_>;;;

I'm sure Very Easy mode will be on its way soon so don't despair! ^^

Let's all play every Castlevania game out there to get train our reflexes!!!!  I think just the clock towers of each game should be sufficient. :P

I don't need it but it's another nice walkthrough.

Sure you need it!  You just don't realize it yet! XD

Yes, shipping is expensive from overseas if the company use EMS and Falcom DOES use EMS.  It's fast and has tracking and insurance.  I wouldn't want to have it any other way if I'm spending about $80 Canadian for a game. :P

Also, just copying and pasting from another thread (https://www.ysutopia.net/forums/index.php?topic=10.0):

Just wanted to point out the import fees and taxes for Canada:

http://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pg/manual/B06-e.asp#48832

What people need to know from all that babbling is:

Gifts from friends and relatives, valued at $60CDN or less, are duty and tax exempt. Goods imported into Canada, valued at $20CDN or more, are subject to all duties and taxes.

So any games you import from the US, Japan, Hong Kong, etc. WILL get charged.

Er, I should add that sometimes, the taxes and stuff may get intercepted by a third party brokerage company who will pay the fees and taxes on your behalf so you won't get charged a COD.  HOWEVER, they will send you an invoice with the amount they paid. :P  So in the end, you'll STILL end up paying taxes + fee but instead of paying the postman/postwoman that comes a-knockin' at your door with the package, you'll pay someone else. ._.;;;;

after hearing this i dont feel so bad by getting my butt kicked by the bosses on easy mode in Ys Origin. I plan on moving to extra easy for the other characters.
D'oh.  Now you made me feel guilty for poking fun of people that need VE mode. :(

And one thing I'm glad about for PC Ys games it that their difficulty modes aren't like Capcom US' where even Easy mode can kick my ass. :P

Thank you~~~! ^-^  I really hope I can stick with it unlike my Felghana one which I dropped ... my God, I stopped right after writing about the Boost Mode manual screen that pops up when Adol gets attacked by more Gruffs. X_X

I could have sworn I wrote a bit about Redmont though.  Might have been just the rough notes I had.

I guess I'll work on getting Yunica to the next boss battle today. *shakes fist at timed platforms*

Guh, I give my friends and family lists of stuff they can get me. :P  But ... quite a few things that weren't on the list ended up showing up this year anyway. :P

So far, I got:
  • Kirby Squeak Squad
  • Potehamu plush & mini-bag
  • cow plush
  • penguin plush
  • paper penguin
  • wooden farm animal stickers (which I am converting to magnets)
  • a ridiculous Disney plastic folder
  • Stargate SG-1 Approaching the Storm book
  • a really goofy old school SG-1 figure of Daniel
  • Winnie the Pooh and the Hanukkah Dreidel book
  • clothes
  • Pucca keychain, markers, and pencil case
  • $40 US eBay gift cert
  • A ticket to see comedian Brian Regan on March 2 w/ the friend that gave it to me

I'll be getting (from folks that have yet to mail out the Chirstmas presents):

  • Castlevania:  Portrait of Ruin
  • Castlevania:  Curse of Darkness
  • Harvest Moon sheep plush
  • Stargate SG-1 season 8
  • some music CDs
  • buttons from nemu*nemu, a friend's online comic

I bought myself an 2GB SD card (yay!  I can take 1600 photos now!), SG-1 seasons 2 & 3, Kuraki Mai singles collection thing as well as Final Fantasy Pray with a Christmas/birthday CD Japan gift cert from last year.

Erm, that's it. ^^

If people really want the Entry Book just make sure you ask for it when you make an order. You don't have to order Ys Origin to get it (you can probably just order an art book), as it's there to help promote stuff.
:O!  You can do that?  I never knew. ^^;  I usually try to keep my e-mails to a minimal with them. :P

I will probably receive my copy sometime in January 2007, with Ys I-II Complete and Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim. That blows. :( I hope I can still get Ys ORIGIN Entry Book and Falcom Calendar 2007 with my games.

^O^  LOVE your signature banner. ^___^

Hirm .... I dunno if anyone got the Entry Book as a mail order bonus. :/  I'd trade my calendar in for that, the demo disc, and the heart warmer!

Hope you get your game soon since it seems like you have a lot of Ys to play~!  Which one will you start off with first? ^.^

I ... really hate it when that happens. :/  At least EMS stuff goes through Canada Post now.  It used to be Purolator and the closest depot was at some crazy busy intersection where you had to make a left turn before it. 9___9

But!!  I got mine today! \^O^/

Please ignore all the cutesy stationery. ^.^~

The photos came out kind of crappy since my room doesn't have enough light.  (Plus, I think this Casio camera's not the greatest for indoor shots to begin with ...)

Just wondering if anyone here is from Canada and if so, did you get your copy yet?   I have a sneaky suspicion that mine's in the country already but since Canada Post and customs are demented, I don't have it yet.  'Course I don't have a tracking number to check the status of it. >_>
