I created a https://www.facebook.com/BoycottNISAmerica/ page, it finally needed to be done formally as NIS America turned out to be yet another XXXSEED Games Redux Clown show... :(

#1) A first-look teaser of the Emerald Dragon [PC Engine CD] English localization project has been published!!!  8) Took YEARS to get here...

#2) I got an email from David Michel, the PCE/PC-FX emulator author, informing me I had won his PC Engine CD contest!!! How about that ?? Hard to believe he's still around and running contests at MagicEngine.com... A really unexpected bonus! The game is Neo Metal Fantasy, a JRPG.

I think this works pretty good, although I'll have more OGG to WAVE extraction tweaks to implement soon to achieve perfection. To get you playing right now though, it's ready! :)

(The future tweaks I want involve skipping OGG extraction and decoding to WAVE by directly reading from the EXE and not first extracting the OGGs to the target folder (improved speed tweak) and other sophisticated tweak issues with the OGG decoder I want just in the name of perfection.)

If you have any creative ideas on what to title it, lemme know.

Ys2EpicBGMSoundMod.exe (My best idea so far and probably final)
Ys2EpicBGMusicMod.exe (Hmm, has potential, less characters, says the same thing)
Ys2RyoBGMSoundMod.exe (Alternatively maybe Ryo in the filename might make it more marketable)
Ys2RyoOSTMod.exe (Shorter alt)
Ys2RyoSoundMod.exe (Shorter alt)
Ys2RyoMusicMod.exe (Shorter alt)

"ys2c-altst.exe" <-- (Original, BORING idea by XXXSEED Cock-Flasher Jeff... See how someone might not give a shit?)

Beyond the Installer filename, there are the various internal titles I used:

'"Ys I Complete" Epic/Ultimate BGM Soundtrack Mod'
"Presenting: The Ryo Yonemitsu Epic BGM Soundtrack Mod!"
Upgrade Ys I Complete to the epic PC Engine/TurboGrafx-CD soundtrack, The Ryo Yonemitsu Cut!
"The PCE Turbo-Powered Ryo Yonemitsu Soundtrack Cut!"

Oh and prepare yourself for a bit of a Splash screen and classic voice-acting when you start the patch BTW, it's a special added touch I also thought of. :)

I don't mean to be a bugger, but did you ever find the old Ys II version?

I finally got my copies of Ys I and II complete working and translated. :)

Thank you very much, I really appreciate all your work.  :)  There's just no other way to play the originals.

Ah yeah, I was reminded of that work a few years ago and I actually tried to rebuild the patchers again, make 'em a little better WITH the added bonus of a special love letter to XXXSEED Games and the psycho lying criminal cheat that you speak of, Jeff Nussbumin' "DeuceBag" (AKA XXXSEED's Cocky Cock-Flasher!), but I didn't quite get around to finishing it all up nicely...

Here's the Ys I Complete rebuild of it, I just uploaded for you a working, but unfinished copy as far as docs, and everything I wanted it to do. Regardless, it'll install the legendary PC Engine/TurboGrafx-CD Ryo Yonemitsu soundtrack just fine over the old MIDI default PC version.

I'll upload the old Ys II version tomorrow or if not later.

Thanks for stopping by again, been years! ;)

Hey, I was wanting to play through Ys Complete again, and I definitely prefer the original release + this translation over the XSeed release.  It's been almost a decade!

However, I remember there being an alternate soundtrack package by Deuce, that replaced the soundtrack with original PC Engine CD music.  I haven't been able to find a working link to that package for the life of me.  Anyone have it floating around?  :)
Kickstarter-triumph "Battle Princess Madelyn" Released - Inspired by the NEC SuperGrafx (December 6, 2018)!

Classic retro gameplay for a whole new era!

* Trü NEC SuperGrafx Origin Story: [Developer] Chris' daughter Madelyn loved to watch him play Daimakaimura/Ghouls ‘n Ghosts on his SuperGrafx which led to her wanting to be IN the game! So eureka, dad's solution was to make her the star of her own!!!

* With the retro feel of Ghouls ‘n Ghosts and Wonder Boy 3, this will conjure up memories of the arcade era with its Unity driven hand-drawn pixel art

* 10 levels with five stages each, they're replayable with no starting over (that is unless you want to)

* Two modes including story (by a professional children's author) and arcade (for the experts)

* Hidden collectibles with extra rewards, weapons are upgradeable depending on your armour, which you can find through the blacksmith in story mode

* Madelyn's pet ghost dog "Fritzy" acts as both a weapon and a way to solve puzzles, allowing the player to tackle boss fights and maneuver puzzles.

* Weapons are specific to certain areas, providing access to secret locations

Watched season one of a new NetFlix show, Altered Carbon, which may or may not be renewed. It has SciFi elements of Blade Runner, Matrix, Fifth Element, and some Zardoz given it explores quasi immortality if you're rich enough to keep clones around, periodically "back up" your brain contents to an implanted storage device, etc.

Season one is only 10 episodes so you can watch the whole thing over the weekend. I enjoyed it well enough although the plot could've used some more work. It's mostly a hardboiled detective/cop kind of show.

There are some SciFi cameos like the Max Headroom actor who plays a weird host of an underground fightclub ring, and Daniel Bernhardt who plays a type of relentless space cop/soldier - he's the cheap Jean Claude Van Damme knockoff who did "Bloodsport 2," and the main sunglass-wearing Matrix agent in "Matrix: Reloaded" since "Mr. Smith" went rogue.

Anyway, you won't be blown away or anything, I don't think, but it kept me very interested all the way through so definitely worth checking out for the casual SciFi movie fan. I give it a thumbs up!
