Please help...
I have followed the instructions in the read me...and I have a bin file of the proper size.
I try to apply the patch, and it tells me it was successfull but when I burn a new disk..the game plays but the text is still not english...
Also..I have the YsIVADPCM.zip already downloaded...I assume this is the english DUB that I've read about..
How do I apply this and re-burn??
I've made about a dozen coffee coasters from cd-r's..and just can't seem to make a good english version!!
Thanks!!!!

Here is what I have done so far...all following the instructions in the CAB file read-me.
Got a copy of CDRWin loaded on my PC.
Created a .Bin file of the proper size required by the patch, and a CUE file.
I placed all the files from the CAB into the folder with the BIN and CUE files and ran the patch.
the patch did say fileid.diz unavailable (whatever that means)..then says "Patching successful"
I then fired up CDRWin and used the CUE file to burn the image back to CD-R so I can play it on my Console (or Magic ENgine)
THe game on the CD-R runs fine yet all the text is still Japanese.
I also tried a copy of TurboRip..it copied my original YS4 cd and again the ISO file was the correct size.
I patched it (again the fileid.diz unavailable) showed..and again it said patching successful.
Here is where I run into problems using this method....
I tried to burn the patched files created by turbo-rip..and I get an error saying the cue file was rejected by my burner.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Only thing I can think of is the patch doesn't know the name of the ISO/BIN that it's patching and doesn't patch it. Otherwise wait for NW to see this and he might know what's up.

WOOHOO...I FINALLY GOT A GOOD BURN!!!!!
Here is how I did it!
Forget about CDRWIN...if you have a copy of Nero (lots of DVD/CD recorders come with it) Use it to burn your copy.
1. Download TurboRip https://www.ysutopia.net/index.php?ind=downloads&op=entry_view&iden=8 (https://www.ysutopia.net/index.php?ind=downloads&op=entry_view&iden=8) and use it to RIP an ISO/WAV/CUE dataset of your original CD.
2. Place all the files in the YsIV(US)v95.cab https://www.ysutopia.net/downloads/ys4/YsIV(US)v95.cab (https://www.ysutopia.net/downloads/ys4/YsIV(US)v95.cab) file into the same folder as the Ripped files.
3. Run the patch Utility.
4. Use Nero in the "Disk Image / saved Project" mode.
5. Select the CUE file in the folder containing your patched files.
6. Burn Baby...Burn!!!!
FINALLY GOT IT!!!!!
Now there is still the issue with the Dubbed Speaking sections!
Has anyone done this????
THanks
Larry

Huh? Are you sure that game has even been dubbed to English yet? As far as I know, there's no English dubs available for this game (not a finished one, at least).

No, it hasn't been finished yet. Larry mistook NightWolve's PCM audio dumper program for the dub. As far as I know, Justus' dub project is on indefinite hold. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the dub finished, but Night has said not to hold my breath.
Larry, here's the official word on the program that you have:
YsIVADPCM.zip - This will dump all the ADPCM sound clips from an Ys IV data track. The data track (track 2) must be ripped in MODE1/2048 form, and you must edit the batch file included to point to whatever name you then give the track file thereafter.
I'm pretty sure you know the saying about making an ass of yourself... Assumptions can be dangerous. I won't fault you this time since there was no readme in the zip file, but next time, read the descriptions on the site before you download.

Good that you got the Translation to work LarryQ.
I Agree with TDOMMX i hope the Dub gets finnished to, but it will only work good if the voice actors Dub with Feeling and not just reading off the script, if you know what i mean... i hope you do. :-X
