Title: Just bought Ys
Post by: Speciial T on Jan. 10, 2007, 12:34:32 PM
Hi I just bought Ys: 1-2 Complete  (item number 874) from Falcom directly.

(I don't have it yet it's on it's way)

1. In the "read me" their is a link for an alternate sound track, but it doesn't work. Where can I get the alternate sound track from?

2. I thought I read somewhere that I have to go to Falcom's website to download a patch to correct some type of error, has anyone read that before?

3. IS their anything else I need to do other than download the patch and apply it to the game?

Thanks in advance for the help!

The patch takes care of downloading what it needs, so you don't need to do anything on Falcom's website. Psycho DeuceBag is having some problems with his website which needs a slight editing. In the meantime, you can get the soundtracks with these links :

Register with fileplanet.com if you haven't already and log into the site once, so it'll create its login cookies, then click these links, though. That'll make the download smooth.

EDIT: Actually, you can get to the whole Legacy of Ys site with a fixed page I just temporarily made available here:

You'll be happy to know, btw, that the current alternate soundtracks have been updated to use the NSIS patching setup, so no more fiddling.

Yeah I looked at them last night they look simple enough.

Although I have a complaint about VISA credit card company.

I send an email to Falcom to buy Ys I & II, III, VI, & Origins which totaled to about $245.

I thought I would be receiving my games soon but instead Visa called and stated they denied a Credit Card Transaction because it came from Japan and it totaled over $150. (I guess Japan is on a black list or something) So Now I have to email Falcom back and hope they will rerun my card for two separate transactions. VISA sucks.

Sorry for the rant but I thought I would let everyone know in case they try to purchase anything from Japan over $150.

Did you use a Visa International card? They are supposed to be international for a reason.
I wonder if they are mistaken.

No it was just my regular VISA card but it still makes me angry. I hope they'll run my card though again.

I had problems using my bank card which is a Visa when I tried to buy Felghana. I used my Mastercard and had no problems. It also took them about two months to actually bill my card.

There's nothing wrong with Japan - it's got to do with your purchase profile and credit limit, and the fact that you weren't actually in Japan when the transaction occurred.

If you often buy from websites, they'll loosen up a bit... but the more troubling thing is that the credit card issuer should have tried to contact you regarding the rejected transaction.

Ah nice, I should announce that somewhere. Dammit though, I just noticed a problem in the ReadMe...

Annoying. I thought I had already changed that to 'installer'... Don't matter, but FYI.
