Title: Question about Ys I.II Complete Wave Files...
Post by: Dark Fact on Apr. 26, 2006, 01:16:02 PM
How does the ".pos" files work, when they define the "loop part" of each song ? How can someone re-create those files to make loops on alternate soundtracks ?

Thanks

Heh-heh, you're not the only one that has wanted to know about this. I created a utility for Psycho DeuceBag to update the POS files when he came to me with the desire to create the alternate soundtracks. However, we decided not to release the utility so that his alternate soundtracks would reign supreme and we wouldn't have all these "Me too! Me too! I wanna make my own too!" folks filling the Ys community up with more choices. So, that's why you haven't seen the release of my utility. Now, we didn't decide on how long though, that is, we didn't decide to _never_ release it; we just decided to withhold it for an "initial period." As it stands, I'm still in no rush to release it atm.

Well, my main interest isn't to "recreate" an Ys Soundtrack... in fact is to alter the game's engine and adapt its graphics & music to fulfill my interests.

^_^

EDIT :/> Specially when I found some pics of the what would be the beta version of Ys I... Thanks for your answer, NightWolve :).

This alternate soundtrack should be added to the Downloads section I guess.
