I guess you all have heard by now. Nintendo settled for Wii (pronounced 'we') as the name for it's upcoming console. Sounds kind of cute and silly at the same time I think.

I think it is a good name! I like it! :)
Much better than Playstation 3 :rolleyes: ... and Xbox 360 (ever seen a 360 degree box?) :rolleyes:

"360" for microsoft means "full circle" - as in: they're are right back from were they started - dead ass last ;D
I really don't care what they call it as long as they stay afloat. It'll be a sad day if/when Big 'N' decides to exit the home console market.
I really can't stand the American teenage mentality on the subject of current video(console) games and the magazines/reviewers who instigate/promote/encourage this piss-ant attitude.

I dont no why nintendo is releasing antoher system.The N64,and Game Cube where both flops.There handhelds still do well,thats about it.

They certainly weren't flops. Sure, they didn't sell as well as the PS1 and PS2, but they still sold INSANE amounts of consoles. Especially the N64 which was a huge success (mainly because of the Mario and Zelda games). :)

Ah the gamecube has been in a distant third behind sony and microsoft for a while now.I could be wrong nintendo even stopped production of the system a few years ago until they droped the pice of the system.The mario and zelda games are the only thing thats kept it goin.

turbofan, not to gang-up on you, but you, along with most folks :) , seem to think that third place in market share is "failure" for Nintendo in the console market. Check out these articles -- they really help put things in context:

IMO, it's a good thing that the video game market is big enough to sustain a "niche" console like Gamecube. And no, I'm not a Nintendo fanboy.
I am confident that Wii will be at least as successful as the Gamecube -- and if so, then we won't have to worry about Nintendo dropping out of the console market (yet).

Actually, I don't care much about the system's name... All I want to know is that it'll have some GOOD games to make it's purchase worth.
