Ys I & II Complete / ...glitch maybe, i cant lose any health.....

i am in darm tower...and i reached the area where it kinda looks like glass and there are mirrors....and for some reason i cant lose any health, it just refills it instantly.... this really sucks, wheres the challenge when that is happening, can anyone help me?

Can someone help me?  I try to play ys1 and the colors seem to invert after a few moments, i dont understand what im doing wrong, i am running windows xp and i dont know what to do here....
