Back from my holiday in Canada. I had a great time. I learned how to snowboard. It was a blast. Planning on going back early next year.

Ya,  I figured it would start some sort of casual conversation.  For the most part i have all my work responsibilites done for the year so i am targeting my vacation in november.  I guess holiday could be taken either way in this case.  I am going to head to canada again to go play in the snow.

Wow i cant believe how much that looks like a loh6 game.  what did they do put the loh team on Ys.  That is too bad. I hope they do have the pc version. also if they have a pc version i hope they stick to the sprites for the characters and 3d for the bosses. I think that was a really good combination.

Ys oriented theme...
I think it would be really good if whatever Ys theme you end up choosing was also an Ys 7 theme.

New site, new entry in the series. Relate both.

It seems Ys 7 already has its own logo so far, and its release is expected in September.

Sept...   lol Well if I am employeeded i know what i will have to be buying 2 of...

« on: Feb. 23, 2008, 09:56:34 PM »
Rather than think about the past glory of arcades, people should build their own arcade like this guy.

http://tinyurl.com/29vn64

Ya that is quite a rigg. very impressive. Just wish we could all do that one.

General / Re: Wii wouldnt like to play at the arcade?
« on: Feb. 19, 2008, 09:52:17 PM »
You know... it would be neat to be able to go to an arcade that had a Wii or other system in it.  Pay to play wouldn't be bad, [low price], maybe using a pay for time method, if there would be a way to have all games that are out or many games available to select from without ever having to physically change the disc to the system.

wow this almost smells like a flashback of  the VS. system and playchoice 10. There was an snes version but it was such a bomb...  funny been working on restoring a VS system cocktail.  It brings back memories of dual nintendos on 1 board sharing a piece of ram to link the 2 nintendos together.  anyway that is neither here or there.

Yeah, the arcades died in the US a long time ago with exception of the bar arcades that pop up here and there.  It is more of a surprise to see that it is just now hitting Japan in the fashion that happened here back in the 80s/90s...

« on: Feb. 07, 2008, 08:52:19 AM »
In a suprising article namco announced it will be closing 1/5 (50 to 60 arcades) of its arcades in japan. the biggest issue sited was the fact that kids were staying home playing Wii that has a lot of the similar physical games that the arcades have. hardware sitings were ""Wii Fit", which features a pressure sensing board that players can use to simulate ski jumps or surfing" and the motion detecting controllers.  on the commedity side gas prices were sited stating familys were not making as many trips to the malls.

In a similar note sega sammy plans to close 100 of its arcades.

Looking forward to the new extras that have been added should be fun. wonder if the old tricks from the pc version will still work.

Na that is more of a reference to the fact that so many other game systems have used region locking. It is really retarded when they have control of the software being sold all the same.

exciting isnt it? LOL nice to know that there was no region lock on the nintendo DS

I never would have discovered some of the secrets of Ys without your website!!  [I still can't get Marco, polo to work...  :o]
Thanks again and Congrats on 10,000  8)

Ya marco polo was actually a joke that was thrown in. did a little picture doctoring. there is only one flaw in the picture that gives it away but that is neither here or there.

Thanks all.

congrats to the Ys I & II COMPLETE Bonus Item and Event Website. It recently got its 10,000 hit since 12/06/02. That was many years ago now. It is amazing how much has been accomplished in the past 5yrs.  Thanks to Nightwolve for without him and the support of others this would not be here.

Happy Winter to all and remember to keep your stick on the ice.  LOL

Thanks,

I will play with that when I get a chance. I enjoy making the pre set save files as usual.  I tend to like the games for play and not the battle so this will be great. Actually i must admit this is the first Ys game where i actually liked the time attack. I think falcom did a great job reinventing the old bosses. My favorite is Zava with the two faces. I think that was a creative way to do battle with Zava.

If you want to unlock the secrets you will have to find the 1.0.0.2 patch... in it you get very easy and adols time attack... bogus files can be generated to activate very easy and adol attack mode
