Well regardless how things turn out, All of these complications only make things more difficult for everyone.

NightWolve is just trying to do his damnedest to keep everyone happy (excluding the pirates)

While I agree Nightwolve deserves a form of credit for his work and accomplishment as shown with his Ys 1 and 2 Complete and Ys 4 Translations alongside with Psycho DeuceBag.

But constant arguments won't accomplish anything but make everyone angry and needless flames and disputes to occur.

Things will work out in the end.

Nightwolve got this far without complications, and he will continue to be successful in the future. I would only hope so.

Didn't really want to quote your post since it was so big SkyeWelse, but I pretty much agree with everything you said. NightWolve is doing the right thing, and all we can do is support him and wish him success in with his work and all future endeavors.

I appreciate your comments on this and thus has given me a broader ideal on the whole situation, and thus with this new knowledge that has educated me, I now rightfully feel you are doing the right thing in this situation.

Regardless if you gave it out for free or sold it it would simply be illegal regardless correct? So then it makes no difference, by you atleast getting a return on this it only promotes better quality work from you and supports you with a return.

From the perspective you've shown me you are correct in your methods.

If I can get enough money aside without the need of worry of keeping food on my table and a roof over my head. I will be glad to donate to your cause not because it's something to be required, But because you *rightfully* deserve it.

As for what I am implying my financial situation, I've sent you a PM regarding, to show that I am not refusing to donate. It's just to show my proof, I am having some problems.

Well in regards to my posts over at "The other Forum" and my posts on your forum..

It's rather I am quite indifferent, see I want Falcom to rightly gain profit from thier game, and if there was a potential possibility that there was an Official US release for console then your possible profiting from the translation could put a shunt in this, But then again in regards of supporting your cause, You have tirelessly worked for the benefit for the Ys community to make the games playable in the native English speaker audience...so in this regard you are achieving a great public service for all Ys fans alike.

So I feel that you deserve a reward in some form for your contributions and countless effort, but in the reverse side of the coin since Falcom originally developed the game and your translation patch does not work without the game they developed for, a majority of the credit is placed in Falcom's behalf. The editing of the graphics and text translation is most definitely of course your shining achievement, but it's such a complex situation that is why I am both a supporter of your work as well against the ideal on profiting on a game developers work. It's confusing if you can somehow sort that all out.

I am not saying that you deserve nothing, You most definitely deserve some form of credit and return for all of your hard work, as well for any other Fan translator that gets nothing in return.

I just wish there was a way for all the parties involved to get what they want without anyone getting thier toes stepped on.

Err by parties involved I mean (You and Falcom)

Meaning Falcom gets the rightful profit from thier game, And you get compensation in return. If only Falcom hired you as a Official Localization, then there wouldn't be any legal gray line in the issue.

All I can do is wish you the best for your work and hope success on your future projects and endeavors.

Nightwolve...Is there a way to track the IP from that extortionist. I am very displeased that someone would try to make me look like the scapegoat from someone else's attempt of this pathetic attack, and I would like to some how "deal" with this individual on my own terms.

Unless of course you are taking care of the situation by your own methods, then I will simply disregard it, and let you dish out a just deserving punishment for the individual.

I would like to clear this little issue up, I have always and only used a single user name over the internet, I also have a static non-changing IP (It's a restriction from my Internet Provider) and I am willing to provide all of my emails and user names I have ever used to clean up this problem. I strongly support your work and would not degrade myself to using insults and acts of immaturity over the internet.

Who ever lowered themselves to attempt to extort from you is quite simply immature and  a complete @sshole that deserves no respect from anyone that supports your cause.

As a matter of fact, I cannot even use proxy utilities (the way my Router is configured outright rejects them) Also because of the strict IP address that is assigned from my ISP, meaning if I were to be banned from any website via the same IP address I use then I would be restricted from ever accessing said website PERMANENTLY because via technical support, my Service Provider said IP addresses from my internet service are unchangeable for the entire length of the service contract (meaning the only way for me to use a Dynamic IP address or any anonymity tricks would for me to totally cancel my service with Cavalier Telephone / DSL and get an entirely new service that has support with a Dynamic IP address instead of a Static IP.

Well glad to see your doing well. I am sorry I didn't respond or reply immediately. I only occasionally glance at this website and then need to do something else.

I actually wonder with my schedule I'm able to make time to play Ys at all. I have been wanting to donate to NightWolve for sometime but all my money has been going to food and living expenses...money has been tight and spending on entertainment is luxury I can rarely afford...To be honest the last game I purchased was Final Fantasy XII and that was several months ago. It took me about 2 months setting extra money aside just to be able to purchase Oath. Not to mention the toll Christmas took on gifts for family and such.

In some ways I am kind of glad I'm busy at the rate I am...it keeps my mind off the patch.

Well next time, I need to contact anyone, I'll use PM's from now on.

Not to derail this topic of yours, but while this is on this particular subject.

I hope I did not raise any ire or negative feedback from the topic I made that you locked.

I was simply asking if the patch that those donated would have been something different then the public released version.

I did not wish for this to become a complicated situation on your behalf...and I apologize for any inconvenience or direct conflict it caused. Since I some of your patches in the past made aesthetic changes such as the Replacement of all instances of "Eternal" in the Ys I and II patch to say "Complete"

That is what I was just trying to figure out, if there was any font preference or anything aesthetically different to be done with the public patch release.

I do not wish to pry or ask questions of a personal nature...

However from my understanding, You run the Ninja Gaiden fan website at Classic Gaming, or am I confusing you with another Psycho DeuceBag.

If this be the case, I think that the Psycho DeuceBag that runs the Ninja Gaiden website (if that is you, is a old friend I used to speak to)

(the following only applies if the Psycho DeuceBag I am refering to is one and the same)

I am unsure if you remember me. I used to be part of the IRC channel on EFnet, for the 2D Fighting game creation tool called M.U.G.E.N

I went by the alias as OmegaDL50, I never make any creations, but I was just generally talking with everyone when the M.U.G.EN scene was at it's peak and when Mugen4Ever was still around.

I was wondering how have you been, and It's good to see you again. I don't care much for M.U.G.E.N any more since the the whole situation has become hypocritical.

Creators claiming ownership of characters and material (which is only limited to the code itself, as they can't claim ownership of the sprites since it's mostly copyrighted to begin with)

Well enough of that, I am unsure if that is past you think is worth speaking about.

Despite all of this, I am a Ys fan, and I am here because I appreciate the work done in Nightwolve's projects, And I appreciate your talents as a translator.

You both do a fine job.

Well nice seeing you again (if you are the same Psycho DeuceBag)

Ys Origin / Re: Ys Origin
« on: Jan. 22, 2007, 07:39:01 PM »
Well by the going trend of translation releases.

I am hoping that Ys V is eventually finished it's translation sometime in 2007.

As Ys V is the only Ys game besides Origin that has not been thus far translated into english.

1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and Oath of Felghana which more or less a remake of 3.

of the numerical entries..only Ys V has yet to be among the English list of playable Ys titles.

Lets not rush Psycho DeuceBag, as I seeing his work in the demos on Youtube as well Ys I and II Complete, I expect only of the highest quality from him, as he has all the skills to do so.

Well I have been a constant guest on this forum for far too long.

I have played both your Ys I and II Complete translations as well as the Ys IV translation, also awaiting for the release of the Oath of Felghana patch (most expensive game I ever purchased), and I figure there is people that are fans of the Ys series such as myself here, I might feel welcome.

Although I don't know how many posts I'll make here (I am also a member of several other forums and run my own as a Administrator so it's kind of hard to contribute and spend time at all other forums as well as this one)

Well I hope I enjoy my stay here and anticipate the release of the Oath in Felghana patch.

Keep up the excellent work.
