Been away from the site for a while, but I sign on a few days ago, and what do I find? The Ys IV dubbing project went live! I was having a pretty bad day up to that point too. Anyway, I dusted off my old Ys IV CD, applied the patch, and it is simply, awesome, fabulous, breathtaking, or any other adjective you can think of, insert here! I even bought another copy of the game if you can believe that! The quality of the voice acting is exactly what one would expect from a mid-90s Turbo release, even better because I've been hoping for this for quite a while! Did I mention that it is totally awesome?! Anyway, many thanks to Burnt Lasagna, Nightwolve, all of the voice actors (who ought to be commended for their fabulous work), and everyone else who was involved with the project. You have made me a happy man!

I found this recently. Any fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes will love this. This is what us Buckeye fans do in the wintertime while we're freezing our nuts off. . .

Ys I & II Complete / Re: My best and worst part of YS I

You're not kidding. Vagullion is a son of a bitch. It took me a while to beat him on nightmare(Or on any difficulty setting for that matter). But aside from him, Zava, at the entrance to the bell tower has always been a real pain in my ass.

I like God of War, all three of them. It's a pain in the ass trying to beat any of those on God Mode.

Falcom Specials / Re: Ys VII ( or Ys ζ )... for the PSP...
« on: Mar. 23, 2009, 05:09:15 PM »
Since I have a PSP, I can't say I mind a PSP release(I would like to see it on the PC too). But does anyone know if they're planning on releasing it in multiple languages like they do with some games?

Well, I just noticed Nightwolve's site back up. I must say that is a beautiful thing.

Just wondering. . . If Hillary does get elected president, then what, exactly does that make Bill?

It really is hard to single out one thing that I like.  I thought the diary feature was really cool. It 's a lot of fun to read about all of the towns people and the monsters. I even found myself going back to all of the towns to make sure I talked to everyone.  I also went around giving everyone gifts, because a lot of them say new things(like the guy who gives you Zalem's measurements)! But overall the whole thing is really great.

That's too bad about the Ys VI project, I was actually looking forward to it because I wanted to see what the differences between the PC/PS2 versions. I was also wondering, since Legend of Heroes VI has been taken off of the forums page, does that mean it's dead?

Ys: The Oath In Felghana / Re: OK, this is silly
« on: Feb. 11, 2007, 09:14:44 AM »
I have to agree, Nightwolve really should charge for the patches, or at least only give it to those people who donate a certain amount, like maybe $10-$20. I plan to send another donation myself, just as soon as I get some other things taken care of.
I'd also say that Falcom should put Nightwolve and Psycho DeuceBag on their payroll. Ultimately, it's Falcom who is getting all the extra sales because of Nightwolve's hard work.

Ys I & II Complete / Re: Just bought Ys
« on: Jan. 11, 2007, 08:15:18 PM »
I had problems using my bank card which is a Visa when I tried to buy Felghana. I used my Mastercard and had no problems. It also took them about two months to actually bill my card.

12
I like it. Most definitely kick ass!

I think they have the save points right before the bosses so you can at least refill your energy. The thing I miss in YsF is not having healing herbs to use during the boss fights. It really makes the battle that much more intense. Over all, I'd say this is the best Ys game yet, although I still haven't had a chance to pick up Origin. I was just wondering. . . any plans to translate it?

Ys: The Oath In Felghana / Re: YsF Script Proofreading
« on: Jan. 08, 2007, 01:42:29 AM »
I played throught the game twice already, pretty much all I did since Christmas Day. I noticed the same typos already mentioned. One thing I did notice, is the places where you have people running up to you, it says something like "Huff Puff," in parenthesis before they actually start to say something. In my opinion, the parenthesis are not really necessary. I don't know how many people would agree with me, it's just my opinion. Also, what is the story with that Paul guy? Did he get his lips caught in a bottle or something?

Emailed link says dose not exist. Is there another link?
The same thing happened to me when I first tried to download it. Copy and paste the link into your address bar and it should work.

Ys: The Oath In Felghana / Re: Ys: The Oath in Felghana Translation
« on: Dec. 31, 2006, 01:07:55 AM »
I've received fake e-mails from Ebay and Yahoo, also. I've even had my Ebay account suspended because of unauthorized access. It really seems like all people are out to do anymore is to try to scam others. About a year ago, I applied and was approved for a new Mastercard online. For two or three weeks I was waiting for the card to show up in the mail, but I never got it. I then got a call from the credit card company saying that I owed $10,000 on a card I had never even received. Some sorry bastard intercepted the card and maxed it out.
But anyway, I get worried about buying stuff online myself. I usually only buy from sites like Amazon.com or Tigerdirect.com, because they've both been around for a long time and I've never had any problems from them.

17
Got it, thank you. The minute I saw the first e-mail, I installed it and started to play it.

Ys: The Oath In Felghana / Re: Ys: The Oath in Felghana Translation

I don't think that Paypal is scamming people, I've been using it for more than five years now without any problems. The problem is there are people going around sending out e-mails masquerading as Paypal trying to get you to enter your account information so they can screw you over. A few days ago, I received a message from Paypal saying that some Ipodman.com guy received my paypent from Paypal of $350 for my Ipod, and to verify this I should enter my username and password. I never even bought a freakin' Ipod! I signed on to my account(Not through this e-mail) and sure enough, there was no record of any payment. I called Paypal about it, and they said that it was another one of these damned scammers. So, again, Paypal isn't scamming people, it's these @ssholes.

I really want to thank Nightwolve, Psycho DeuceBag, and all others involved for this wonderful translation. It's totally awesome, I just can't wait to see it when it's completely finished. I was also wondering if someone could please post a translation for the text right before the fight with Galbalan? Some of it is already translated, but a lot is still in Japanese. Thank you in advance.

20
I can't even make it past the first bloody level! I guest I'll just wait for the release of the Felghana patch and play that.

Ys I & II Complete / Re: Messed Up Screen In Ys II.
« on: Mar. 03, 2006, 02:39:03 PM »
I actually had a similar problem a while back. When I went into the character screen, pretty much the same thing happened and then the computer locked up and I had to restart. I updated my video drivers and that fixed the problem. I'd say try updating your video and sound drivers.

Ys I & II Complete / RE: availability

Has anybody bought the Ys I-II release? I was wondering if it is any different than the two seperate releases. I'd rather not have to buy it again.

Ys I & II Complete / RE: How to order these two games from Falcom !
« on: Jan. 28, 2006, 06:29:58 AM »
I tried to order them from Falcom about a year ago, and couldn't because I didn't have an international credit card. So another option is to go to http://www.himeyashop.com, and order it from them. Don't know if they sell it cheaper than Falcom, but you can order online and you don't need an international credit card. They also have Ys VI and The Oath in Felgana.

Xak III: The Eternal Recurrence / RE: How is Xak III?
« on: Jan. 27, 2006, 07:00:44 PM »
Yeah, I figured $60 was a little steep, but I got it factory sealed, maybe thats why the guy wanted more for it. I had been searching around for it for a few weeks, and when I saw it I just bought it. I did, however, pick up a copy of Ys IV for $10. I think I got that off of Yahoo auctions. That was a deal since I've seen it go on Ebay for $50 or $60. He probably didn't know what he had.

Xak III is a great game. I admit, the only reason why I got it in the first place is because of Nightwolve's translation. In fact, I never even heard of it until the translation came out. But it was good enough to hold my interest. I play it for a little while off and on, but I like it. I got it off of Ebay for $60. I Don't know if thats a good price or not. Someone please let me know if I got ripped off.

Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys / RE: Vote for your favorite version of Ys IV!
« on: Feb. 03, 2006, 10:13:57 PM »
I'd have to say Dawn of Ys, myself. I had been wanting to play it ever since it's release, but never bothered because I know all of two words in Japanese. When Nightwolve's translation came out, I flew right through it. I then applied the patch to the SNES rom of Mask of the Sun, thinking I'd fly through that one too, but I lost interest in it pretty quickly. Not sure why, though. I've even started playing it since then and still lost interest after a while. So for this reason I say Dawn of Ys is better.
