If you look hard enough,I think in total there has been like fourteen games translated.Eight hucard games, and six cd games. If you head over to the Magic Engine boards,Dave shadoff was looking for people to beta test Maison Ikkoku. The Pc Engine community has been pretty dull the past couple of years.Only thing that ever goes on is A bunch of bickering and arguing to what the system can and cannot do compared to other systems of its time.

General / Snatcher Pc Engine Scd Translation
« on: Jul. 22, 2007, 09:39:48 AM »
I have been following this pretty closely the past few months. The same guys that are doing the Policenaughts translation for the Ps1 are attempting to translate Snatcher for the Pc Engine - http://forums.junkerhq.net/viewtopic.php?t=1389. NightWolve I think this is where your boy GillanSeed has been spending his time at. Anyways i guess they dumped the script from the Sega Cd version to use for the Pc Engine version. Since you no more about this than most other people do, do you think it can be done?

I actually thought it was pretty funny.Obviously this guy was drunk.
What the hell Xak game is that?Is that for the super famicom or something?.
Yeah annoying, but also funny.Dont take it to seriously.

9
Yeah black memorex disks seem to work the best.I think you can get like thirty for ten bucks.I remember I had a heck of time tring to get Xak III to play correctly on my dou.
That was back when I was using cdr-win though.

10
I have to say NightWolves TurboRip utility puts Cdrwin to shame.

11
Ah yeah I was referring to the saturn and playstation.I was wondering why it never expanded to 32-bit sytems and so forth.

12
Hey cool site, good luck with it.I wonder why Xak never expanded beyond the pc engine.

I find this comical that these Ys geeks are worked up that I misspelled Ys. This is actually a pretty entertaining thread.

!! !!

Anyway, like I stated before... if it has a CORRECT name, use it. Unless you like to be called "Martha" instead of your true name, since you don't mind mispellings or typos.

As for being "Fictional" or not, try going to a nearby library and find a book, typing a mispelled / incomplete title or author. I bet you'll find it rather difficult.

As far as that goes,I agree with what joe said. Get a life man.

Ah the gamecube has been in a distant third behind sony and microsoft for a while now.I could be wrong nintendo even stopped production of the system a few years ago until they droped the pice of the system. The mario and zelda games are the only thing thats kept it goin.

I knew about Ys for many years. I finally picked the game up about a year ago for the turbo CD. I was pretty disappointed with it. Guess if I had played the game back in the day, I d have different opinion on it. As it stands I wasnt that impressed with it.

19
Yeah nightwolve deserves a break, take it easy man.

.
I like to look at the stats and be like, "Hey, look, 196 Ys nerds across the world have used my Ys I patch! I'm special!"
Thats the funniest thing ive red in a while. Now a question, are the Y S nerds in the same catagory as the starwars&startreck geeks?

Ok sorry man,I`ll try to explain in more detail next time.I uploaded it from the origonal game to make the bin/cue.But ah I think I`ll just wait for your turbo rip utility.

This is where I got the patch http://home.comcast.net/~heavyweights/games/drac/index.htm.The patch is ppf, yeah it included instructions. After I patched, the intro was still in japanese.
Did you patch the MODE1/2048 ISO dump of track 2 rather than a whole BIN file?
now your confusing me there, think I patched the whole bin file instead of iso track 2.

This is a question for nightwolve.Does ppf-omatic actually work? For my own amusment I tried applying the english patch to dracula x.And yes I do have the actual game. When I tried applying the patch to the bin file nothing seems to happen.Im geussin im probly doin something wrong here.

General / Re: Cancelled projects
« on: Apr. 04, 2006, 08:48:43 AM »
Cant speak for nightwolve,I think the project is dead.I wish he would throw one more pc engine translation our way,but thats wishful thinkin.Heck even partial translation startling odyssey 2 would be cool.

26
Yeah dont get me wrong,I understand 16,17 years ago the game was probly a pretty great.Being one of the first cd based console games. And for people who played the game back than.I finally picked the game up about year ago, after years of reading and hearing about what a great game it was.Now the music, cinemas and the striat foward gameplay was all good. The first half of ys book 1 was good, but I found going through darm tower some what mundan and tedious.Example if you miss something and having to backtrack down severel levels.Like I say continue your great work, but consider if you took the name "ys" off the origonal game and added a diffrent title. If the game would garner so much attension now.

27
Well here`s my opinion - Why the heck are these YS games so popular to begin with? I`ve never understood what the big deal is about these games.

Maybe you should only allow registered users to download these patches, maybe that would detour half these people coming here downloading the patch than leaving. I`d be glad to offer help, but I no absolutely nothing webdesign or anything of that nature..

Xak 3 was a great translation, continue your great work. I`d rather see more PC Engine game translations, but that`s just my opinion.

Speaking of pc engine games, there`s only like a few cd and hucard games that have been translated.Hope someday there will be a few more.
