I never noticed this during my first play through. Looks like some kinda door, but I dunno if/how to open it. Any ideas?

Yeah, you can open that with one of your abilities later... I don't seem to remember how exactly... Charged with the Earth ability sounds right.

That's "widestretch..." Yesss, it enhances one's gaming experience, to be sure...

Is there any other way to play and fully enjoy the game that I'm unaware of? C'mon, quit teasing 'im.

I'm not sure what you mean.  There's no way to play the games in true widescreen, unfortunately.  No 16:9 for us.  Not ours. :(

Falcom sadly didn't design the game to really run in 16:10, so it just uses a 4:3 view and stretches it instead of actually using a 16:10 view. Adding 16:10 would probably require them to change the camera code to make sure you didn't see off the edge of areas.

Did they fix that in YsO?
