Play the game at different times. It won't be the end of the world. As for the dummy file, it serves as a minor form of deterrent to piracy.

Dummy files. Falcom seems to use them a bit, not sure why.

Alright, the last shout when displayed at the top of the page is now limited to 384 characters. That takes care of that.

Good lord. Please, guys, try to keep the shouts to a reasonable size.

That sounds awesome to see something like that from your childhood. I believe I mentioned it before in an eariler thread, but have this big book of NES tips and secrets written from my own hand as a child. It has some great nostalgic moments for me when I look at it these days. The commitment I used to put into those old NES games and the development in that book in a way reflects the type of commitment I put into various things today. See Mom and Dad! Videogames teach the value of dedication and commitment to kids AND hand eye coordination. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Ahem... Anyway. Have you taken a look over at Woomb.net? They do have a Golvellius sequel titled "Golvellius 2" that came out exclusively for the MSX2 platform. Their version is also translated into English and apparently the first MSX Golvellius is vastly different from the Sega Master System cart. I bought both of them today and have played a little of the different version of Golvellius 1 and so far it is a bit different and feels a bit more like Zelda than the SMS version.

Check it out if you haven't seen it already. Also the artwork from the second game is really beautiful. I know I know that artist from somewhere else... I just can't think of where.

"Enter the world of Golvellius. Where demons rule the valley of water..." Oh yes I know this game. I am holding the original cartridge right here! I even have "Saga Golvellius Vally of Doom best pass ward - you can beat the game" in large children's handwriting [mine lol from 1989?] and inside a strip of ancient looking paper with my dad's handwriting OPRZ YAOP WXLU DSV7 MFTX 33XW ZOBA EP5Z
I liked this game more than the original NES Zelda games, and spoke as much to people as well lol Sadly, I never saw another Golvellius game, or Crystalis game... these games deserved sequels in my opinion... [although thankfully the Sega Ys 1 game had sequels... plenty of them thanks to NW and others!]
But, yes good game, plenty of memories.

I just recently got into a series called Golvellius which completely rocks. Anyone else like this game? I just finished the Sega Master System version and got the two translated ones over at Woomb.net. Also the instruction manuals that came with the game are beyond crazy. The development team seems like my kind of people. : )

I really like xanadu next... I got it a long time ago in the hopes of even finding a english script to follow. Only thing i ever could find was a drect walkthru without any story Sad Its one of those games i hope comes to the states in english. If I could translate the thing I would. Along with the sorcerian games. side scrolling rpgs are sweet.

From my personal experience it's plays kind of like a Diablo / Dungeon Crawler clone but styled with Falcom's own story telling and graphical and audio presentation. Smiley

It's a fun game overall but unfortunately is QUITE difficult to navigate in since it's not as straight forward as Oath in Felghana with a much more complicated menu system that has loads of text. I would assume any translation effort on this title would be nothing less then a extremely arduous task.

Anyone played Xanadu Next? Any opinions on it? Saw some Youtube vids and it looks pretty decent. Good music too.

Not really big on the trance, but I <3 atmospheric drum&bass, downtempo (eg. Mushroom Jazz) and house music.

Sent by Blaze on Mar. 08, 2007, 05:22:46 PM[ Delete ]

I listen to Techno and VG Music mostly, none of that Midi crap though... unless it sounds EXACLY like in the game
