I created a https://www.facebook.com/BoycottNISAmerica/ page, it finally needed to be done formally as NIS America turned out to be yet another XXXSEED Games Redux Clown show... :(

I dunno if you guys remember the old 1983 "V" miniseries ("Visitors"), but ABC has launched a reimagining of it. It's up on Hulu so you can give it a whirl:

Hey Nathan, eh, we're still around but in limited capacities. Here's Deuce on youtube actually with a demo of his SSRPG translation work I ran into today.

Anyway, glad you enjoyed Ys IV. It was a very difficult project for me because I pretty much couldn't do any of the important hacking for primitive, 8-bit NEC hardware/software and had to rely on others. If not for the great Neill Corlett and Dave Shadoff, it would never have been possible.

I don't know if the team that did the Dawn of Ys patch is still around but you guys have my thanks. Just finished it. Easilly one of the most epic games I've ever played. I couldn't get into the Dev Room at the end though because it crashes at the end credits. A bit of a bummer but it didn't detract from the whole experience.

I hear people are enjoying Ys Seven... Turns out to be a much longer game than most Ys games, reinventing the series like Ys VI did.

Yeah, slow board generally, but it was always much worse during summer.

It's toooo quiet!

SkyeWelse: No, I haven't; The PSP doesn't interest me thus that Ys 7 doesn't either... Wake me up from my slumber when a PC version is announced.

X-Calibar: Yup, saw it. It wasn't as spectacularly awesome as the first one, but not bad (or so-so) I guess. Mixed feelings of disappointment (story could've used some more work) & enjoyment...

Jizz, get the first Transformers on Blu-ray! Satisfaction guaranteed! It's a fantastic "blow you away" kinda movie, hands down.

I still haven't seen Transformers 1! lol
But I do know the Wii game is terrible.

Did you like Transformers 2, NightWolve?

Sent by nunuu on Jul. 18, 2009, 05:26:55 AM[ Delete ]

Well, 7 is supposedly going multi-platform and I would think Falcom would include a PC port considering a bulk of the fans are expected it to be. Hope they announce it by the end of the year!

Hey NW, Have you seen the new trailer of Ys 7 yet? It was released a couple of days ago and it's looking great (albeit different) so far!

Sent by NightWolve on Jul. 17, 2009, 05:16:46 PM[ Delete ]

FYI, another Felghana special offer went up today... $60 bucks + S/H for the following:

1) Felghana Vista Edition (it's just patched with 1.2.0.3.).
2) The original 10-disc Felghana Soundtrack set that came with the LE.
3) Ys Origin Super Arrange Version Soundtrack.
4) Felghana Perfect Guidebook.

All that, if purchased separately, would cost about ~$122 bucks...

? Ys what? maybe they will eventually release a pc version for those of us not willing to buy a psp.

Well, serves ya right for continuing to live in a desert... ;) I just looked up the forecast for your area and the high for Sunday could reach 118 degrees apparently... Heh-heh.

Is it winter yet?

Wow, almost been gone for a full month. Summer is keeping most everyone pretty busy looks like.

Iino, in the case of that DVD it's cause it's pretty old and Walmart is usually pretty cheap when it comes to brick/mortar retail type stores. They're not cheaper than say a good flea market, but good enough. Plus yeah, this wasn't the special edition version though you still paid more.

Anyway, anybody catch Transformers 2? Looks like we have a real summer blockbuster with that one, though the reviews aren't positive. I usually like Michael Bay films and there seem to be a lot of reviewers with a particular grudge against him, so I can't really trust their judgement when it comes to him. I thought the first film was awesome and plan to buy it on blu-ray. Well, I'll stop by again after I see it.

Enjoy your summer, guys!

Why are movies so cheap down in the US? DVD's here in Alberta (Canada) are still well inside the $12 block. When I picked up my copy of Memoirs I got stuck with a huge tab! $24 if I remember. I think that was the special edition though. I still found it kind of odd because it was even on sale at the time! (Bought it from a closing down movie store). Still, atleast "someone" is getting a good deal on movies, hopefully prices will begin to decline what with the recession and Blu-Ray stomping on the DVD market.

Hey IinoSama, I read your profile. That's pretty cool you're helping to build a new home. I also like construction/home improvement work myself. Oh, and "Memoirs of a Geisha" is a fine choice to mention; great movie and incidentally, the DVD can be had at Walmart for $5 now, though there is another SE with a 2nd disc with all the extras.

For T4, I'd wait for it on video, or, catch it at the cheapest showtimes...

Am I even allowed to be using this thing? (Someone let me know if I'm not)

Recently saw the newest Star Trek movie, have to agree, now that you say it, the whole thing seemed a lot like a glorified TV Episode. I thoroughly enjoyed it even if the only character I really liked was Simon Pegg's Scotty.

Sad to hear that the newest Terminator isn't as good as the commercials made it out to be. I was kind of hoping it would end up nearly as awesome as presented (there has been a severe lacking of good movies coming out lately and its starting to piss me off). Is it worth going to watch? or should I wait till it comes out on Blu-Ray? ???

Sent by NightWolve on May. 31, 2009, 04:57:02 AM[ Delete ]

I did catch the new Star Trek movie right after hoping for something better. I was surprised to find that it was pretty decent, though it sorta felt like a really, really good TV episode. As far as prequels go and the beginning that it presented for the characters of the original series, it does a great job there. Not bad, overall. I'd give it a B+ or something.

About T4: it's a shame cause somewhere in there could've been a great movie. It was a nice gift to cast Michael Ironside for us SciFi fans (remember "Total Recall" badassness?), but the character he played here along with the dialogue was pretty terrible. Bale is terrible too, but the main thing that makes this movie half-way decent is this Marcus Wright character. Yeah, there was great action and visuals to enjoy at times, but I dunno, things just go wrong somehow. Where is the real movie, please ??

They got me into the theatre because of a) legacy points with the Terminator franchise, and b) Christian Bale's success with Batman Begins/Dark Knight. He saved the Batman franchise and made it good again, so I thought/hoped the same would happen here given how mediocre T3 was (thanks to the loss of James Cameron). T4 is maybe slightly better than T3, but neither come close to the greatest of T2... I've lost count as to how many times I've watched T2 (there's a new blu-ray out, BTW: "Skynet Edition").

BTW, what do you think of them slapping a young Arnold's face on that terminator, that is, was that digital cameo a good or a bad idea ? I can't decide just yet...

Sent by X-Calibar on May. 28, 2009, 08:00:57 PM[ Delete ]

Saw T4 as well... I didn't think it was bad at all, but it felt like a sidestory. It lacked substance but had plenty of nice visuals. I enjoyed it, but now I'm ready for the real movie :D ...

Sent by NightWolve on May. 28, 2009, 03:28:32 PM[ Delete ]

So... I saw T4 the other day and hate to admit that the critics were right: it's a bit of a disappointment. Two sequels post T2 and James Cameron's involvement, and no other director comes even close to his work... What a shame.

Apparently, this McG guy, a director whose resume includes such fine work as "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" will also be involved with T5... Goodness. Now I'm really upset about the cancellation of the TV series; I enjoyed that far more than this movie so now I have nothing to look forward to. The Terminator franchise is dead... :(

Yeah that 10 dollar special for Felghana is pretty amazing. I almost thought about getting it again since I have the LE version, but then there's other stuff I should be saving for. : )

FYI on the Felghana sale: It's SOLD OUT... Sorry folks... I was honestly considering buying a couple so I could resell them and make a little profit, but too late. Eh, the shipping costs for 5 or more would've been killer though, so I probably wouldn't have done it anyway.

I MUST be seeing things cause this is unbelievable... Falcom updated the Specials page and apparently is offering Felghana for ONLY 10 BUCKS!! WHAT THE FUCK ? I'm gonna send an email blast to board members for this. It's worth spreading the word I'd say.
