WIP Typing Tutor Game Updates.
« on: Sep. 15, 2006, 07:05:27 AM »
You should have installed version .85 to take advantage of this. Basically, I'm not willing to make a whole new 3 MB installer just yet to include the changes I've made so far, but since it's only my fake kernel DLL that's changed, you can simply overwrite the old one to take advantage of my changes.

Quote
+ I forgot to set the TOP_MOST flag for the message box that shows the game
manual so it would improperly appear hidden behind the main window. (This
was a side effect of having set the game window's TOP_MOST flag.)

+ User request was added to disable the CAPS LOCK key and keep it disabled to
prevent its accidental enabling when attempting to press the left SHIFT key.

+ Launching multiple instances of Ys Typing Tutor is now prevented.

Full Installer if you've never downloaded it:

https://www.ysutopia.net/index.php?ind=downloads&op=download_file&ide=11&file=YsTT(US)v085.exe

To update your installation after, simply:

1) Download this: /downloads/ystt/KernelYs.dll

2) Copy it to the default folder "C:\Program Files\Ys Typing Tutor", overwriting the old one. That's it!

The main thing is if you're one that accidentally keeps pressing the CAP LOCKS key when trying to left-shift to uppercase a character, the game will now always keep it disabled. Anyway, that's all for now. I was messing with the font, but I restored it in the end. I might play with this more some day, but right now, I think that's it.

I don't want to try this little game again, I remember I had big problems using it the last time.
I always got crash that made my comp freeze !
Or maybe it was just this old cpu... I now have a quad core ahah :D

Yeah, it is a little flaky I noticed. Don't switch around with other applications while playing it. Better yet, don't have a lot of other applications running in the background.

It crashed and/or locked on me a few times way back, but I haven't had any problems with it anymore for some reason. Change of video card, new XPSP2 installation, etc. might've made some difference.
