What is the difference between the Limited Edition and the others? Are there any difference in packaging, manuals, executables etc?

Different packaging, different manual, different everything! ;)

As for the data itself, there's not much of a difference there. The two games are on the same disc, but that's about it I think.

This is the limited edition:

DVDs are for suckers. Illegally pirated and stolen videos all the way. No menus. No "DO NOT PIRATE THIS!" screens. No fuss. Only perfection. I honestly only pirate movies because that "don't pirate this" screen annoys me.

Indeed, it's AV time. Check out: ! Sir, the door was open.

It would be really nice to know what all the packages, manuals and CDs/DVDs looks like in each releases, so I would know which one would look the best on my shelves. ;D Could anyone arrange that? Probably have to be some kind of a contribution project, since I doubt there's anyone here with all the PC releases of Ys I and II Completes.

The combined package that Falcom has now doesn't look too shabby IMHO, so I'm considering getting some older release from somewhere, sometime.

It doesn't. Heck, the Ys IV anime doesn't even exist.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but there is no Ys IV -The Dawn of Ys- anime.  The most we ever saw of it was a pilot trailer that came with the Ys I & II anime box sets.

While I have yet to play through the Dawn of Ys, what I've seen of its cancelled anime counterpart looks pretty decent.  For screenshots and more details, check out http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/ys/ys5.htm.
This is TDOMMX (formerly Magus0857) signing out.
